The Do’s and Dont’s For a Happy Family

You’ve probably noticed that everything in the family flows better when the family feels good. Realistically, not everyone in the family may be happy at the same time no matter how much we want them to be. Again, we can encourage our kids to be happy but we can’t force them to be.

As parents, one of our most important responsibilities is to show and inspire our family how to find their own definition of what it means for them to be happy.

Take a moment right now to think about the people in your life that you truly enjoy being around. Is their influence negative or positive? Do they inspire you to rise to a better mood or to a worse mood? Does their motivating energy cause you to be sad and depressed or happy and positive? Keep those thoughts and feelings in mind as we take these concepts and focus them on your children. Whether you know it or not, your children are always watching you and feeling you—by this I mean feeling the impact of your mood. They’re even paying attention to you when they’re not aware they’re doing it! This is why it’s so important to make your happiness a priority- so you can inspire your children in theirs.

But let’s face it, there are going to be times when you don’t feel like being happy ☺ and that’s ok.

My purpose in focusing on you, first, is to help you be aware that happiness is a deliberate process that you can implement into your life. And this deliberate process can be taught to your kids as well.
